Individual Reflection Assignment
We listened to Tomomi Ducket's lecture on May 8th.
She started Niigata Sake Lovers and Sake Brewery. And she won the Grand Prix of Mrs Sake Japan in 2024.
I would like to introduce what I learned in this lecture.
She was born in stationery store in Honcho, Niigata City. After studying in the United States, Australia, and Canada, she worked for an engineering development company in the Netherlands.
Currently, I am engaged in the dissemination of "the charm of Japan seen from abroad" in Japan and support for companies. It seems that she didn't like studying English at first.
However, when she was in Canada, she realized that English is a necessary tool to communicate with many people. I listened to her story and learned that learning English broadens my horizons by connecting not only with Japan but also with people around the world.
In the lecture, she talked about the meaning of life chart above. This is called ikigai chart and is used to pursue self-growth and happiness. I saw this chart and learned that these four balances will lead to my purpose in life. When I work in the future, I want to think about whether my work applies to this chart.
【summary】
After listening to this lecture, I was surprised by Tomomi Ducket's ability to act. I want to be able to put into action what to do right away like her. I also wanted to find out about her because I wanted to know how she came to speak English fluently.
